Training Remote Projects
Where our company carries out projects outside Maputo, we have a social responsibility to provide employment to local residents. On major projects, our company’s policy is to maximise employment to local residents, of both male and female gender without compromising either safety, quality and performance..
Training of local residents is therefore carried out to category 1 of our job specifications. Where time permits, this training is extended. Wipco’s current average of core labour to local labour is 1 core labour to 4 locally trained employees in the Nampula, Beira, Massingir and Madagascar project areas.
Facilitating such training calls for our in-house training to commence HSE and basic skills training one month prior to work commencing on site. The company provides Off-site facilities for this.
